My story

Growing up in Minnesota, family meals around the kitchen table, church potlucks, and holiday gatherings were an important part of my life. Food was a part of each experience, but it wasn’t until I was older that I started thinking about the types of food that made these gatherings special.

My sister, Gail, and I did home baking for people when she had young children and I was working full-time as a Registered Nurse. After one particularly busy baking season, we knew we had to figure out how to manage the growth or discontinue the project. We discontinued it.

Since that time, I have married, moved to Kansas, become a stepmother and grandmother, and retired from my nursing career. Amid all the changes, baking for my new family, church family, and community has been a creative outlet for me.

After prayer, talking with others and the support of my husband, I am fulfilling my dream to open a home bakery business.
