- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the pumpkin, sugars, oil, and eggs until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
- Fill muffin liners halfway with batter, add a dollop of cream cheese mixture, then top with remaining batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
