Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, and butter.
  2. Stir continuously until the mixture melts and turns a golden color.
  3. Slowly add heavy cream while stirring, then bring to a boil.
  4. Continue boiling until the mixture reaches 245°F on a candy thermometer.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and sea salt.
  6. Pour the caramel into a greased baking dish and let it cool completely before cutting.

Notes
