Healthy Baked Chicken Parmesan

A healthier version of classic chicken parmesan, baked to perfection for a juicy and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Place coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove and add marinara sauce and mozzarella on top.
  6. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in Italian dressing before coating.
  • Serve with a side of whole wheat pasta or a fresh salad.
