  • 1 pound rigatoni pasta
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Return the sausage to the skillet, then stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Combine cooked rigatoni with the sauce, mixing well.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute the Italian sausage with turkey sausage for a lighter version.
