  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup peeled and diced apples
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until well combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon for the topping.
  8. Shape the dough into balls and roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
